Dec. 21, 2020:
This year is definitely not like other years...so in true 2020 fashion, the cost of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" is all over the board! For the 37th year, PNC has calculated the cost of what each gift would set you back for your "True Love" on all 12 days.
Based on the PNC Christmas Price Index (which compiles all the research to acquire the estimated cost of each gift from all twelve days) it would take only $16,168.14 (-58.5% from 2019) to lavish your loved one with each daily gift this year. If you're a purist and must buy all 364 gifts from the entire song's repetition of daily gifts, you're looking at a grand total of $105,561.80 (-38.0% from 2019).
Although some of the days have spiked in value, it may be a good year to participate for those that love to save money. Quite a few of the last days are unavailable due to the pandemic, which is the reason for the massive price drop. And remember, the official twelve days of Christmas begins on Christmas and continues the following days after, so all you procrastinators still have time...though, inventory may be limited!
